The Author and The Hero’s release date has been moved from August to December 2013. I am not sure if this is good or bad for the book. The good websites that offer a wealth of advice on book promotions have much to say about the prospects of a debut novel which is released in each season. As the publisher has decided this change of date, all I can do is to hope for the best in any case. It is certainly advantageous in that it gives me five more months for promoting the book.

I have merged the book’s blog http://theauthorandthehero.wordpress.com/ into this one. All information related to the novel can be accessed from: https://indujournal.wordpress.com/category/the-author-and-the-hero/
I decided to do this based on a facebook forum chat with Lipika Bhushan, formerly Head of Marketing, HarperCollins India who has recently launched the consultancy firm Market My Book.

According to Lipika, maintaining multiple websites or multiple facebook pages for each book tends to dilute the traffic coming to the website and splits the number of potential readers who may be interested in your books if they are made to navigate through multiple websites. As a reader and a writer, I understand her logic and agree with this.

It has been a while since I posted on the blog – travel, sickness, the day job among other reasons. I have decided to make it up by posting everyday in July. Would be sharing reviews of some fabulous books that I got to read over the past two months (The much awaited The Hope Factory by Lavanya Sankaran among others), and of course more posts about the much awaited (in my case) The Author and The Hero.
